Simba - Lighthouse Aussies Always my hero Simba is LOVED by Iulia and Razvan Date of Birth : 07.12.2020 Blue merle boy 2 Sire: Aussie Smile be my Star Dam : Jasinsky Forbidden Fruit is Sweetest Simba aka Piti was out litter boy who turned into a mighty Lion. He is an active, loving very eager to please puppy. And I think his parents loved him from their first visit to our home. Short description
Now, he’s been with us for over 4 months and we can say is an awesome adventure. We discover day by day new things about him and us. He’s a really smart boy, FOOD and people oriented. Is a big chance that if he meets a new dog also to greet his human like he knows him for a lifetime.
Our relationship
We learn everyday how to read him, and understand him more and more. We learn how to consume his energy in a good way, we are working in building trust and a long time relationship. It’s our first dog and we are newbies in this, but I think Simba had a great start with Ana and for us this was a very helpful first step and it’s easier to continue the work if he already had some basics.
Ups
From the things that makes him a really awesome pup, I think one of them is that when he’s left alone he knows what to focus on, and I mean he didn’t chew our furniture or doors he uses his toys or chew stuff.
He’s learning very fast any trick, and he’s really great at this. If involves food, anything is possible.
When he’s not sleeping home his favorite place to sleep is his cage, and is also his safe place. But most important the cage is the thing for fun car rides, he likes this sooo much. If he’s not sleepy, he’s staying in the trunk in his cage watching the cars, people and all the stuff we pass by.
The potty train was easy peasy, when he really needs to go outside he barks. Even when we left him at the hotel he holds until morning, although the program was a little bit different than home.
Lately he’s learning how to chill with us, and is a awesome cuddle buddy (for 10 min if it’s too hot, but are the best 10mins). Also, he knows how to stay chill or he’s going to take a bone to chew if we have work to do, and he’s chilling in the room with us.
Downs
Now, because it’s almost summer, if the temperature goes over 23degrees, Simba is almost non-existing in the day if he’s in the garden he founds the coldest shadow on earth, if he’s inside he likes the balcony where usually are 20degrees.
We have to work on his barking, it’s not necessarily a big problem, because he’s not barking out of nowhere in the middle of the night or at another animals .. but when he’s not pleased by another dog, because he don’t want to play with him, or maybe on the zoomies time. We are learning how to manage this and I think we will get over this soon.
And also We think he’s a little bit jealous when we play with another dog we don’t have a second dog, and all attention goes to him.. but we will figure this in time.
Overall, we can see the big picture with him as a grown up dog and it’s gonna be amazing, but we don’t want this puppy period to come to an end because it has its special moments.

We have a big boy now! Time just flies when you have fun. His behaviour has really changed from the last time (when he had 6 months). He’s more mature, calmer, focus and determined in every day activity or training session. We’ve been in a continuous work and learning journey together. We’ve been participating in different training sessions, such as reactivity, sociability (regarding other dogs), and not last - the weekly activity for our family - AGILITY.
We had the opportunity to discover this dog sport together, and not only to discover it but to make it one of our favorite activities. It improves our relationship to all intents and purposes. Also, we had our first agility contest this year (September 2022) in Bucharest, was a really nice experience and made us to want more to do in this sport.
Simba is just the perfect fit when it comes to hikes, walks or any other activity. He has the same drive for working, learning new tricks, training session as in the beginning, but he’s doing all with more focus and patience. We are really happy with the outcome and his transformation until now, but we are sure that more challenging and wholesome moments together are coming.
